Mission Statement

The Mission of this Lodge shall be:

To encourage self development through the study of Masonry
• To exhibit excellence in Degree work
• To exhibit excellence in education in order to bring about a deeper understanding of the wisdom of Masonry
• To enhance Masonic fellowship and enjoy a quality social experience at regular Festive Boards
• To provide a distinctive Masonic experience
• To be invested in our community through appropriate charity work

The Mission Statement above encapsulates the basis for the creation of this Lodge. It is our belief that it is time that Freemasonry returns to its roots of being a “sacred place of learning”. By adopting the operating concepts of what has become to be known as a “European” Lodge and by guiding our efforts with the above mission statement, we believe that the Masonic experience can be enhanced and Masonry can once again become the focal point of a man’s quest for enlightenment.

To Encourage Self Development through the Study of Masonry
Masonry has long said that it takes “good men and makes them better.” There are many different
ways to explain how this is done but surely one of the most important ways is through concentrated
serious study of the Craft. This Lodge will provide a place and the material for serious study and
discussion of the principles of Masonry. Each meeting will feature an educational paper and discussion on a Masonic topic.

To Exhibit Excellence in Degree Work
Nothing short of excellence in Degree work will be accepted in this Lodge. The Degree ceremonies
should be conducted with dignity and passion. The ceremonies and lectures of Masonry are of
utmost importance to setting the new candidate on the right path and reminding the current Mason
of the basis of the Craft. We will work to hone our Degree work through constant practice.

To Exhibit Excellence in Education in order to bring about a deeper understanding of the Wisdom of Masonry.
The Lodge will offer both the new candidate and the established Master Mason a study program to
deepen their understanding of the Craft. This will be in addition to the papers presented during the
meetings. It will take various forms such as Web-based learning, sharing a book, discussion
groups, guest speakers and so on. For the new candidate, extra material will be offered to be
enjoyed between degrees.

To Enhance Masonic Fellowship and Enjoy a Quality Social Experience at regular Festive Boards
The promotion of true fellowship in a lodge best exemplifies the meaning of “brother”. We will
include a charge in yearly dues for Festive Boards or dinners. Festive Boards will allow the Lodge
members, after each regular meeting, to retire to a local restaurant to enjoy a banquet-style meal and
continued fellowship and Masonic discourse. Members can get to know each other on a deeper
level and discuss Masonic issues in a atmosphere of brotherly love and fellowship.

To Provide a Distinctive Masonic Experience
There are certain attributes that make this Lodge distinctive. The membership is kept small so that
everyone can know each other and everyone can be involved. The Festive Board meal allows for
further bonding on a social level. The active emphasis on self improvement and education. Striving
for excellence in Degree work. Enhancing the fellowship experience.
These are just a few of the qualities that will provide a distinctive Masonic experience for every member.

To be Invested in our Community through appropriate Charity work

Charity is one of the key tenets of Masonry. To that end, the Lodge will choose appropriate
charities and then offer our time, talent and funds to support their work. By being an active, positive
part of our Community, we will fulfill our Mission Statement and also present Masonry to the
Public in the correct frame of reference.
